REVIEW: Creepy #4

Break out your cheese and prepare to be mortified….. Wait that’s not right… prepare to be… terrified…. no that’s not it either. Prepare to be… whelmed! That’s the sentence I was looking for. Creepy brings forth a couple of short stories, and a few images based on some monsters to help kick you into the halloween mood, ( or keep you in it since we’re in November.) The art style is tough for me to explain as I’m not an artist, but it reminds me of the black and white Spider-man art style. There is plenty attention to detail to and it matches the tone of the writing perfectly.

This is in no way a deep, thoughtful, or intellectual read. If that’s what you’re looking for the cover alone should explain that you’re holding the wrong comic. It’s meant to be a campy and funny horror blend filled with dorky urban myths, bog wandering witches, cannibals, a zombie wedding, dead rock-a-billy stars, and a big picture of a demon.

Over-all I found reading it to be quite enjoyable. It may just be my Halloween mood this week, but every once in a while some cheesy horror with a good sense of humor does the reader good.

Those of you wanting to switch off your brains and fight the Christmas music which is slowly seeping in to our November, you can get a 6 page preview on Dark Horse’s site or hit up your local comics shop, and invest five dollars into a creepy laugh.
