AvX Round 2, Day 4

Once again, CRAZY voting yesterday. In several of these matchups, the lead changed hands several times during the day. AND once again, we had a tie. In what I think is the most important battle, The Sentry vs. Doctor Doom. I even made a last minute appeal to people on Facebook, and the votes still came in as a tie. Of course, I did say I would resort to cheating on this one . . and technically I could say my vote counts hust a smidge more than everyone else’s. . . nah. This one goes into overtime, too.

Speaking of overtime, what happened yesterday between Jean Grey and Magneto. A clear winner. Finally.

[OVERTIME] House of M Bracket: Jean Grey vs. Magneto

Jean Grey 68%
Magneto 32%

That is a pretty resounding win for Jean Grey. All right.
And the rest:

Civil War Bracket: Dr. Strange vs. Bullseye

Dr. Strange 64%
Bullseye 36%

Schism Bracket: Spiderwoman vs Colossus

Spiderwoman 41%
Colossus 59%

Seige Bracket: Sentry vs Doctor Doom

Sentry 50%
Dr. Doom 50%

House of M Bracket: Joss Whedon vs. Cable

Joss Whedon 77%
Cable 23%

Really glad to see Whedon dominate like that. I think if we were extending this voting out beyond the May 4th premiere of Avengers he might have an outside shot at winning this whole thing. Because you’re really going to dig this movie.

And now, on to today’s matchups! Of course, we will have the overtime between The Sentry and Doctor Doom. Once again, Doom SUCKS. And Sentry is amazing.  Don’t agree with me? Why do you think Doom wins in this fight? I’ve seen a lot of votes for Doom, but no real justification. If you vote for Doom, leave a comment for why you’d make a stupid-ass decision like that.

And the rest of them! Now today’s matchups are all of our surviving #1 seeds vs the winners of the 8/9 seeds.  So while these should be pretty one-sided battles, I see some problems ahead for some of our favorites.

Civil War Bracket: Captain America vs. Luke Cage

Schism Bracket: Wolverine vs Kang the Conquerer

Seige Bracket: Thor vs. Ultron

House of M Bracket: Thanos vs. Moon Knight

Kang is one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel universe, and Ultron. . . .well, that @#$%er is tough to kill. Even if you’re an Asgardian demigod. And both Luke Cage and Moon Knight are scrappy, street-level heroes with something to prove. So I never count them out.  But it’s tough to beat Cap and Thanos.

Please go vote, and please don’t let these end in ties. I’m sick of it. And we need to move on. Monday we get down to business with our Sweet 16 round. From then on we’ll only do two matchups a day instead of 4, and maybe try to emphasize more trash talking.
