On January 7th, the BBC and Puffin Books will announce the first author in a series of eBooks to celebrate the Doctor’s 50th anniversary. The books will sell for about $3.25, and the first book will be available for download on January 23. The first story will feature the First Doctor, and subsequent authors will be announced on the first Monday of each month. Promotional materials will be available on the 11th, and stories being published on the 23rd of each month. These announcements will premiere on the official Doctor Who Facebook page, so if you haven’t already – get to “likin'”!
The consensus on the Facebook comments leads me to believe that a lot of fans are disgruntled by the choice of utilizing children’s authors, but I can’t help but be beyond excited at the idea of J.K. Rowling penning a Doctor tale, and of course hope that she is included.
