INDIE BOOKS: The Forever Saga: Flash

It’s time for another edition of Indie Books. This time we’re talking with Sean Sousa. He’s a first rate geek and, though I’ve not yet read any of his books, he’s stopped here at Big Shiny Robot! to let us know why we should give them a shot.

Hey! I’m Sean C. Sousa. I hail from Michigan. I now live in California with an awesome wife who encourages my crazy writing dreams and makes sure I observe proper hygiene.

My path to becoming an author is a twisty one. I grew up on a steady diet of Transformers, action figures, comic books, and Sega games. I know – tasty. But my love for Transformers, robots, and good stories survived throughout college, grad school, and beyond, before I cried uncle and wrote the book that was rattling around in my brain-head.

That’s where the first installment of my new series, The Forever Saga: Flash, comes in. Here’s the gist of my sci-fi adventure novel:

“Long ago, the first reign of Grigori Geist nearly destroyed the Earth.

Returned from exile, Geist is secretly rebuilding his kingdom beneath Antarctica, assembling his robotic Vaucan race to war against mankind. Only one obstacle remains: the war hero known as Brian Renney.

Yet Brian is losing a battle against his fears. Scars of heart and mind linger from his days in Vietnam, fueling his failures as husband and father. This embitters his youngest son, Jason – a star athlete torn between pursuing the love of his life, and meeting the demands of a father who is far from the storied army captain he once was.

And all the while, Geist is coming for them.

In this dark hour, Brian and Jason encounter a war to end all others… and an unexpected ally who, once meant for evil, shall forever be a force for good.”

At heart, The Forever Saga: Flash tells the story of a father and son who seek to mend their family in a world of giant robots and ancient tyrants. It’s like a well-baked chocolate chip cookie: the sci-fi is the crunchy outside, while the human drama is the warm, chewy middle. Even better, you can eat cookies while you read my book.

Here’s what critics and readers are saying:

“Great promise, inventiveness, and creativity.” – Jasper de Joode, Fantasy Book Review

“It’s an impressive bit of worldbuilding…the shining secret world fits perfectly with the real world Earth.” – Kirkus Reviews

‘The Forever Saga: Flash’ is an exciting addition to science fiction adventure novel collections.” – Midwest Book Review

“This book is such a good read it’s hard to put down. I’m not usually a sci-fi fan, but once you get past the first chapter, it’s clear that this book is way more than just sci-fi. It’s got everything from action to romance, comedy to tragedy, and even a touch of mystery as the plot unfolds with more than a few unexpected discoveries. It’s an easy read, but don’t check your brain at the door; there’s plenty of food for thought as the characters wrestle with deep questions of morality, purpose, and what it means to be human.” – Some rad person named Carol

“This book has everything that you could ask from a Novel! It is a perfect blend of Futuristic Technologies, the Human Spirit, the Bond of Friends and Family, and the Honor of Soldiers. If you are even slightly interested in Sci-Fi or Robots then this is a must-have book for you.” – Keith, muh man!

Let those five quotes combine like Voltron to pique your interest!

The novel has sixteen 5-star reviews and a 4.7 average rating on Amazon, where The Forever Saga: Flash is available in e-book and paperback formats. You can also get Flash for various e-readers at the novel’s official website, www.theforeversaga.com – go there for more info about myself and my writing.

This is Sean C. Sousa, and Optimus Prime approves of this message.

If it sounds like your bag, be sure to give it a try…
