In years past, [adult swim] has done a great job pulling April Fools’ Day pranks on its viewers, showing a censored version of one of the world’s worst movies, The Room, two years in a row , but this year they’ve gone completely cats.
Changing their chyron from [adult swim] to [meow meow], they seem to be showing an assortment of live action shows where all the main characters’s faces are replaced with cats’ heads.
To wit, here is a screen shot of NTSF:SD:SUV: special cat edition.
So, on the upside, Kate Mulgrew’s face was replaced with that awesome cat with an eyepatch. On the downside, the beautiful and talented Maria Thayer’s face was replaced with a cat with pink eyes. And Malin Ackerman, Lake Bell, and Erinn Hayes.
So far, we’ve seen an episode of Eagleheart, NTSF:SD:SUV::, Newsreaders, Childrens Hospital, and Delocated. No way to be sure where this is going since this is totally off the rails of what my cable guide says is supposed to be on.
My only complaint? I would’ve loved to see this done with cartoons, too. Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Squibillies– think how awesome that would be.
