STAR WARS: Filoni gives a new Clone Wars clip

Dave Filoni teases us with another clip of Clone Wars bonus content: Plo Koon and the Wolf Pack on the trail of Master Sifo-Dyas.

USA Today gets a clip of upcoming bonus content for Star Wars: The Clone Wars as well some questions answered from supervising director Dave Filoni. But the big question about the bonus content: how/when will we get to see the bonus content isn’t answered. Go check out the clip and read the interview on USA Today, in which Filoni discusses unanswered questions, Ahsoka’s fate, and has some thoughts about J.J. Abrams and the sequel trilogy.

About that clip: Unless the music in the clip is just place filler (which sometimes happens), we get some pretty big hints here – there’s some murmurs of the Emperor’s theme, as well as some of the ominous tones that accompanies Anakin’s brush to the dark side. With James Arnold Taylor voicing Plo Koon and Dee Bradley Baker covering Clone Commander Wollfe and the other clones in the Wolf Pack, we watch the survey team in a bleak whiteout condition, but eventually finding a crash site… and a dusty lightsaber.

Here’s what Filoni had to say about this story arc, which is described as “It’s the beginning of a mystery, and one that will make the Jedi question their role in the Clone Wars and the universe itself.”

“The Jedi have been fighting a war with an army that was commissioned by one of their own, Jedi Master Syfo-Dias,” he says. “But who was Syfo-Dias, and what happened to him? The dark lord of the Sith has woven an intricate web to ensnare the Jedi, but it is not full-proof and sometimes a small clue, and a bit of chance, can lead to the unraveling of the best-laid plans.”

“It’s bittersweet in some ways for the members of the team but we’re all pretty excited about what we have coming back,” he says. “They are easily some of the best things we were able to do, and I think we’re all glad we were able to finish them.”

Filoni also discusses the fan reaction to Ahsoka’s fate at the end of season five, and their need for further closure for the character. He also gets excited about the prospect of the upcoming films.
