SLCC: Day 1 Begins

Good morning folks of the internet!  if you’re going to be at Salt Lake Comic Con we thought we’d give you a few things to check out.  Based on the scouting done by Kill-Tacular-Tron and myself it will be a great weekend for all in attendance.  First and foremost we recommend you head over to booth 114 to see all of the robots hanging out doing what we do best!  Heck you might even run into one of these good looking people while you’re there!

BSR! At SLC Nerd

I would recommend you bring your 3DS in ready to snag some tags, you can bet the bots will have ours at the booth wanting to share some Avatar love with your system, come get a tag say hi and while you’re at it pick up a t-shirt and a shot glass!  They will be in short supply.  We will also have Dive Kick available to play, if you’re lucky you might even get to try and beat me!

Our own Byran “Swankmotron” Young will be at booth E6. Make sure to pay him a visit.

Next I’d recommend sneaking over to see Heather Ackley at booth E2 in the Artist’s Alley.  You can find amazing pieces like the one below at her booth.

Next to her you can see Scorched By Britt for all of your nerdy wood burning needs, she has a pretty incredible array of geeky pieces available. I’m partial to the Pip Boy myself.

Once you’re done there check out Bill Galvan’s booth at C2, where he’ll be showing off his artwork and i’m sure some amazing t-shirts for your procurement. I’m sort of hoping for the design below.

Let’s not forget the phenomenal J.J. Harrison, illustrator and artist for the Adventure Time Comics, creator of Lost In Comics, and overall good guy! You can find him and his work at booth D2.  He’ll have a stack of prints to sell including one of my favorites which you can see below.

As you’re leaving the artist’s alley don’t forget to stop in and see Derek Hunter at booth J3, he also does work on Adventure Time as well as creates some of his own incredible pieces, like this one for the 3NES Art Show in New York.

Don’t forget to also say hito Ryan Ottley creator of Invincible along with all the other phenomenal artists that will be around today.  We were also able to pre-scope the Ghost Busters of Utah booth that have a pretty incredible monster you’ll want to get your photo with, we’ll leave the spoilers out for the show on that one.  After you see the lego folk I’d say head down to WETA Digital, it is an incredible booth. Don’t forget to support your local comic shops such as Dragon’s Keep, Night-Flight, Dr. Volts, and Black Cat Comics go high five your local addicition fixers and spread the comic con love!

After you’ve exploded your fandom over the incredible local artists that will be featured I’d recommend calming down by viewing the Utah Lego Groups creation.  We’ll leave pictures later on, but let’s just say that you should be following @zombielucas and @bsrzombietron on instagram to see photos of the amazingness as it unfolds! If you aren’t following the bots on twitter I’d jump on that straight away.  You can find them all at:

When all is said and done day 1 should shape up to be quite a party!  What are you folks excited for? Did we miss an artist that is just phenomenal? Drop us a comment below or send me an email thomas@bigshinyrobot.com
