Geoff Johns to Leave Aquaman

Guest post by Mark Avo

According to Geoff Johns he will conclude his run on Aquaman with issue 25. He announced this news over his Twitter account and then later confirmed that with an IGN article. Johns made it a personal mission to legitimize Aquaman as an A-list superhero during the New 52 reboot. Geoff Johns Aquaman run was a bit of fun but often took a darker tone than many of the other Justice League member’s books.

“Sea of Storms” begins with the debut of new AQUAMAN writer Jeff Parker! The Earth’s crust is grinding to life, releasing deadly volcanoes and bizarre creatures…so humanity’s first instinct is to blame Atlantis! And as the plates pull apart, the pressures of ruling a kingdom under siege are weighing on Aquaman and Mera as well!

Parker had this to say on his upcoming Aquaman run, “In short the upcoming stories are about HIM KICKING ALL GRADES OF AQUATIC ASS”.
