VIDEO: Fan-Made Short, “The Dark Knight Legacy” Continues the Story Past DKR

Christopher Nolan has said repeatedly that his work on the Batman universe from his trilogy is complete, and he will not be revisiting it. Sure he will have creative input into the upcoming Superman/Batman film, but for all intents and purposes, The Dark Knight series is complete as he intended it.

This isn’t to say that there weren’t some threads left hanging that had fans tossing around “What if’s” or trying to figure out what would happen next should the series continue.

Well one fan group got together and made a pretty damn great short film that chronicles the aftermath of the Dark Knight Rises which showcases the Red Hood’s takever of the crime underworld and John “Robin” Blake’s ascension as Batman’s replacement, Nightwing.

If you really like what you see and want to help the creators film the rest of the story, they have created an IndieGoGo to help crowdsource the needed funds to aaccomplish that. They fully admit in the campaign that they are walking a fine line, legally, as far as asking for money to make a film, but they are hoping that since it’s a not-for-profit operation and Batman will not be appearing in the series, they should be able to make the movie. With 30 days to go and the project nearly a third of the way funded, it looks like people definitely want to see what happens next.

One word of warning, the video is pretty brutal, ranging in the hard PG-13 to light R category, so I’d recommend it as NSFW or for little kids.
