STAR WARS: Release Patterns

Jedi News got a hold of the Disney brochure from the European Brand Licensing show.

There are a lot of big announcements and confirmations on this one sheet of paper, and plenty of speculation to be had:

For one thing, this is confirmation that they’re probably NOT moving Episode VII to December. There’s been no indication whatseover that the date was actually changing, and those of us credible journalists have told you not to believe sources saying as much.

There are a number of other surprising things on here.

First is the news of Darth Vader themed TV specials. What could these entail? Might that be LEGO specials? Could we be getting new stories involving him? Documentaries documenting his rise and fall? It could be anything and raises many questions. With them launching Spring/Summer 2014, we’ll know more about them sooner rather than later.

Perhaps the most vague piece of news on this sheet is the “Digital Library Launch.”

I assume we’ll be getting the Star Wars movies in a digital format….  But could this also herald the release of the Bonus Content? A digital library could imply something akin to the Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited model. We pay a fee and can download anything in the Star Wars library, and this could be where they put the bonus content?

Who knows.

Surely, we don’t.

But we do know that May 2015 STILL looks good for Episode VII and everything is proceeding as I have foreseen.
