TRAILER: ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 4

This week, AMC unchained a teaser for the second half of “The Walking Dead’s” fourth season and released it to feast upon the Internet. Other than the fact that our ragged group of survivors will in fact be killing more zombies, not much is revealed about the last half of the season—which calls for wild speculation.

I noticed that some of the characters appear to be on their own in the woods while others have stumbled upon an abandoned house that has a bit of a hanging zombie infestation. Since the mid-season finale left our group scattered and panicked, it wouldn’t surprise me if the season picks up on multiple storyarcs as the characters attempt to find their way back to each other. At least we can take comfort in the fact that the Governor won’t be hiding around the corner with his schemes and rugged good looks.

The one moment that does stand out comes at the end when we see Carl desperately trying to wake Rick up from a coma of unknown origin. Since AMC has changed the cover photo on their Walking Dead page to one showing both Rick and Carl walking toward the horizon, I can’t help but think that their relationship is going to be a focal point for the final half, which could result in a more stripped down conflict than we’ve been seeing.  And let’s not overlook Carol, who is out wandering around on her own. Her potential reintroduction to the series could bring all kinds of nasty surprises.

“The Walking Dead” is scheduled to resume February 9 on AMC. Keep checking back with your friends here at bigshinyrobot.com for all the zombie-survival action.
