If there’s one game from my childhood that I feel deserves to be remade more than any other, it’s most definitely Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri. It looks like I’m finally getting my wish.
Check out the trailer below for Firaxis’ latest game, Civilization: Beyond Earth. While no gameplay footage has been released, the trailer is beautiful, and sets the tone perfectly. It evokes the same kind of feeling that I got when I played Alpha Centauri as a kid. And while it’s not a remake, the plans for the game make me excited to dive back into other-world colonization and strategy.
