Lindsay Lohan to Sue Creators of ‘GTA V’

According to this story from Kotaku, actress Lindsay Lohan has filed a lawsuit against the creators of “Grand Theft Auto V” due to a claim that the character of Lacey Jonas was illegally based on her. Evidence-wise, all her lawyers have had to go on is a vague similarity and a reference to a hotel where Lohan once lived. The game creators have yet to comment on the lawsuit.

Admittedly, when I read this, I felt a little bad for Ms. Lohan. Has her self-perception sunk so low as to think that a caricature of what could be a dozen Hollywood actresses was inspired by her particular brand of poor judgment and bad publicity? It will be interesting to see how this shakes out, though I’m sure we’re looking at a prompt dismissal. If Lindsay Lohan was due likeness rights every time a video game satirized a blonde, insecure actress, we’d have to seriously rethink the way we make fun of people.
