M.A.C. Announces Rocky Horror Collection

If you all thought I was a little out of control when M.A.C. released the Rick Baker collection, you should have seen my reaction to the announcement that their next pop culture collection is a celebration of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”

You see, I grew up in a town with one stop light and no movie theaters. My teen years were pre-internet but I lived in magazines and VHS tapes. By the time I was 14 I learned about ambiguous sexuality before I had even heard the term (“wait, he’s a dude, but dresses like a lady, but he likes dudes, and also ladies, and who cares ’cause I kinda dig him…”), and knew that my first M.A.C. purchase would be a tube of Cyber and some black liquid liner (for the record, I also bought the original Viva Glam). When I moved away to The Big City (Columbus, natch), two of the first things I did was see RHPS at the Neon, and visit the M.A.C. counter at the City Center mall. And quality purple lipstick and Tim Curry in a corset are just as important to me twenty years later. And, fun fact, the original Viva Glam is still my signature color. */shelby eatenton voice*

All right, enough gushing. I would like, if I may, for you to shut up and take my money.

The collection will include four lipsticks at$17.50 each. Frank_N_Furter, Sin, Oblivion, and Strange Journey.

Lip pencil in Vino, $17.50, and it’s here I must interject to declare the tragic missed opportunity of a pencil called “Antici…..” and a lipstick called “….Pation.”

Two Greasepaint sticks in Black and B, $21:

Blush in Crazed Imagination, $24:

Contour palette in Bone Beige, $27.50:

Two Chromagraphic pencils in Black Black and Basic Red, $17.50:

Nail laquer in Formidable and Bad Fairy. $13.50:

Two glitters in 3D Black and Gold, and a pigment in It’s Not Easy Having a Good Time, which I desperately need, $23:

Lashes in 7 Lash for $17.50, which I assure you will sell out immediately:

And my personal favorite, the Riff Raff Palette, $44:

The set will also include a liquid liner, mascara, and setting powder in the Rocky Horror packaging.

When Swank-mo-tron brought this release to my attention, I literally made a noise so glottal and primal it scared my pets. I think it’s safe to say I will be sharing a few swatches with you on October 2nd, when the M.A.C. Rocky Horror Collection hits stores.
