It was a very close race but even with a steep drop from week one "Ant-Man" was able to keep the very poorly reviewed "Pixels" out of the top spot. "Ant-Man" was also able to cross the $100 million mark, and is close to making back the budget. It may not be the highest grossing Marvel film but it is still doing well.
The biggest news on this slow week is that "Jurassic World" has now taken the #3 all time top grossing spot from "The Avengers" and is now at $1.54 Billion.

Now instead of watching "Pixels" go watch the short film that inspired it or the "Futurama" episode it lifted its plot from.
A quick note on budgets and dollar figures:
Films making back their budgets is a good sign, but that is just the money to film. It doesn't include distribution and marketing. Marketing can cost as much as a film. That big Superbowl spot is spendy. So take that into account when judging a film's success. Hitting $100 million isn't the same as it once was.
All dollar amounts in the top 5 come from estimates based on ticket sales unless noted otherwise. Occasionally this article will be published when actual results come out, which is usually late Monday afternoon. For more about this and other ins and outs of movie tracking click here.
