Naomi Novik likes to play with the well-known fairytales and turn them upside down. The author of Uprooted and Spinning Silver, likes to explore how events translate into stories and eventually legends and myths. Growing up listening to Polish lullabies and influenced by her own families history, Novik excels at these type of retellings, enchantment and and magic. I dig fantastical elements in fiction, and some of them are frightening and terrible because if there is magic in the world it should magnify all things, not just the beautiful and good. I was lucky enough to chat with her at the Denver Comic Con. No topic was off limits! Fan fiction, Non-fiction & her families immigrant story.
