Interview with Thomas Puha of Remedy Entertainment

We’ve already had Remedy games where you could manipulate time. I guess manipulating space was the next natural step for them. Well, I don’t know if that second statement is true. However, I do know that Control is a new action adventure game from the Remedy Entertainment.

I love how Remedy always gives us something new AND something that grows naturally out of their oeuvre. If you have seen the game trailer than perhaps the floating people in rigor might remind you of the frozen people in Quantum Break. It also has that shadowy, shifty ethereal space from Alan Wake with the gun play and powers of Quantum Break/Max Payne. Venturing into all the big pulp genres – gritty cop, then horror writer, then time travel gone wrong, and now…Area 51 aliens. Well, maybe.

At PAX West, we got a chance to speak to Remedy’s Head of Communications, Thomas Puha. We talk about the sounds a gun can make. A “shape-shifting gun.” Does the gun shift shape? Does what the bullets hit change shape? More questions than answers but the interview is solid. Control is being published by 505 games and launches next year on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
