Out Today on DVD and Blu-ray 12/22/2009
Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009 at 4:21 am Category: Blu-ray, DVD's, Out Today on DVDFirst on the list is the Star Wars themed Family Guy special Something, Something, Something Dark Side. This has been getting lots of attention and looks to be very funny. I’m quite excited to see it even though I thought the first one was too needlessly sexual in a creepy molestation kind of way.
District 9 comes out on Blu-ray and DVD today. I missed this one in the theatres, but I was keenly interested in seeing it. What’s the verdict on it? (500) Days of Summer is another one I missed in the theatres coming out today and I’m terribly excited to catch it. The third movie in the “missed in the theatre but wanted to catch” category that comes out today is Mike Judge’s Extract.
One of my favorite cheesy science-fiction films from my childhood, The Philadelphia Experiment, comes out on DVD. I need to give it another watch to see how it holds up, but based on the cover-art alone and Nancy “People Only Remember Me From Robocop” Allen, it probably doesn’t stand up very well.
That’s it for this week. Remember, you can still order these movies today from Amazon and have them in time for Christmas. Just click the titles and you can add them to your cart.

I highly recommend both District 9 and (500) Days of Summer.
I wouldn’t highly recommend District 9. I think it is fun, but you are going to have to sort out a hundred broken story twists the moment you turn it off.
Kind of like Phantom Menace, Doctor?
Extract…The movie to see over the others–Like office space-Ive seen it 3 times! Bateman rocks.
