Lucasfilm has been good enough to provide Big Shiny Robot! with an advanced look at this week’s episode of Clone Wars. Be sure to check Big Shiny Robot! every week for reviews of the latest episodes and clips from them.
In The Gungan General, Anakin and Obi-Wan are negotiating Count Dookus ransom when they are also taken prisoner and placed in holding with the Separatist leader. Their only choice: Work together to escape.
A clone contingent is dispatched to deliver a ransom in exchange for Dooku unaware that the Jedi are with him. But misfortune befalls their mission, and circumstance finds them with the unlikeliest of leaders: Jar Jar Binks.
All in all, this is another great looking episode I’m looking forward to.

Looks good.
To continue the Jar Jar discussion from the last Clone Wars post, Jar Jar was alright as a character in Bombad Jedi…but the episode was still the least entertaining of all the episodes shown so far. And I just think it’s too soon after the first Jar Jar episode to bring him back again. He seems like a “once per season” type of character.
Also, I still think Ahmed Best is doing Jar Jar’s voice. I didn’t notice anything different about the preview I saw on TV. I mean, why wouldn’t he do the voice? He IS Jar Jar. There would be no point to having him in the episode if they can’t get the real voice actor.

Continuing the Jar Jar discussion from the last Clone Wars post:
I actually thought Jar Jar was decent in Bombad Jedi, but it was still the worst episode aired so far. I don’t mind the character appearing in the show, but it just seems too soon to bring him back. He seems like a “one episode per season” kind of character. It seems weird to bring a silly character like Jar Jar into what has been(so far) a fairly normal/serious story.
Also, in the preview I saw on TV…it sounded like Ahmed Best to me. I’m not sure why people are saying it’s not him. Of course, I could be wrong, but I don’t see why they would even bring the character back if they couldn’t land Best in the role. Love him or hate him, he IS Jar Jar.
Anywho, the clip above looks good. Any word on the contest winners?

Hey Jeff, the show is actually not airing in production order. For example, Bombad Jedi’s production number was five but it aired at number eight. Dooku Captured’s production number was sixteen I believe but it aired at number eleven. Basically if the show had been airing in production order, we wouldn’t have seen Jar Jar again for a dozen more episodes. Seeing Jar Jar again so soon was just a result of mixing around episode order.

D’oh. Totally didn’t mean to post twice. The first post gave me an error message, and I wasn’t sure if it went through. Checked back a good while later and it wasn’t showing, so I went ahead and reposted my thoughts. Sorry y’all.
Anyway–thanks, Shawn. I didn’t realize that Bombad Jedi/Gungan General were so far apart in the production order.

No problems in posting twice.
It just makes my posts look more popular, and that I can deal with.
