Aliens and Predators, Oh My!

I’ve got good news and bad news everyone:
Bad news first:
Bloody Disgusting‘s posting rumors that Robert Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios is slated to produce a Predator “Reboot.” However, this team of commandos is up against more than one group of intergalactic hunters. Sadly, these franchises don’t know when to quit movie wise…
And now, the good news!
I’ve been on an Alien trilogy (the fourth one doesn’t count, it’s a piece of shit) kick the past few days and have been scouring the internet nerdy alien life cycles, merchandise photos and old TV ads. I managed to find out that Sega and Gearbox are currently developing a FPS based on the film franchise and the game is due out sometime this year on PS3, XBOX360 and PC. From what I’ve gathered the game takes place shortly after Alien 3 and puts you in the ranks of a USMC unit investigating the whereabouts of Ripley, Hicks, Newt and Bishop. From what I’ve seen it looks pretty solid and knowing that Gearbox is one of the developers responsible for Halflife and porting Halo to PC, it seems to be in good hands.

OH good times indeed!!! Most of the games created so far in the Alien franchise were too short or just sucked; in my opinion. But this new game you speak of does sound promising, and I’ve been itching for a new Alien game for a while.
Alien: Resurrection is great. It’s my third favorite, after Alien and Alien 3.
Aliens, which I love, is my least favorite.
Aliens 4…GIANT ALIEN BABY…WTF????
Alien Resurrection is a piece of shit wrapped in an HR Giger Bio Mechoid package chock full of shitty dialogue, clones, alien/human hybrids and Wynona Ryder as an android.
To say that this is better than Aliens makes me question your validity on having an opinion on the series…
if you mute alien 4 while watching- it is LOTS better.
I like Alien 4, but I don’t think I would say it’s better than Aliens. I think Swank says this because he doesn’t like James Cameron, and therefore won’t give him proper credit.
I’m saying it because each of the movies is a different sort of genre.
Alien is a horror film, Aliens is an action film, Alien 3 is a much larger horror film and Alien Resurection is a sci-fi.
I like the balls out action movie the least.
I like it, but seriously, I enjoy Alien 4 as much or more.
You see what Swank is doing? ‘as much’. When John Kerry did this, they called him a flip flopper.
Also what we are talking about presupposes genre. Liking a movie and naming a better one has nothing to do with anything else other than personal tastes. That’s why it’s so annoying when Swank drops, ‘I can’t say, they are different movies’ referring to movies even in the same quadrilogy.
Yeah, I still don’t count the fourth one.
In your defense, your an idiot.
Maybe, but that doesn’t change the fact that the fourth one is a piece of shit excuse for a sci-fi movie.
