Michel Gondry set for ‘Green Hornet’
Tuesday, February 24th, 2009 at 2:28 pm Category: MoviesFresh from Variety.com:
Columbia Pictures has set Michel Gondry to direct “Green Hornet,” with production to begin later this year.
Seth Rogen is starring, and wrote the script with Evan Goldberg. Neal Moritz is producing.
Gondry most recently completed “Tokyo.”
This project has switched hands so many times I wonder if anyone cares anymore?
I care, but I still have to cringe a little, after all as funny as Seth Rogan usually is, he seems to only have one character down and that is of course, Seth Rogan.
Hard to complain about Michel Gondry for such a stylish property though Steven Chow had me a bit more giddy.
Again, we geeks hold our collective breath expecting very little but secretly expecting the world.
Oh yeah – Don’t forget Spider-Man on Broadway
I wonder if anyone has an opinion about that?
Probably not, huh?

Stephen Chow is the man. I didn’t know they were making this movie but I guess I shouldn’t put anything past them these days. I think Gondry can make some cool, kooky ass Hornet movie.
Yeah… I want a cool Green Hornet movie, not a oafishly funny Green Hornet movie.
Michel Gondry is definitely NOT oafish and neither is Stephen Chow, both of those humor make a great mixture. In all honesty, I can’t see it being done any other way, the only thing I think is bad about this deal is Seth Rogan. I’m a fan of his other shiz, especially Freaks and Geeks and Knocked Up, but it doesn’t sound like a role that suits either.
