Timothy Zahn Writing a New Star Wars Book…

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009 at 6:37 pm Category: Books, Star Wars

It was announced today that Timothy Zahn will be returning to the Star Wars expanded universe with a novel to be released in 2011.

You can read the full story (though it’s not much more than what you’ll read here) at the official Star Wars website.

As of now, it’s untitled and timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of his first Star Wars novel, Heir to the Empire.

I have to say that I haven’t read a great deal of Star Wars novels (I’ve read perhaps 5 in the last 10 years), but Timothy Zahns books were a cut above everything else I’d read.

On a sidenote, I finished Betrayal, the first novel in the Legacy of the Force saga and will be reviewing it on this site shortly.

I’m with you, the last few I read were his and a couple released within those same years.

I’m in the same boat as you, swank. I read some of the EU novels way back in the day…Zahn’s novels were pretty darn good. Maybe I will check this one out.

I stopped reading them sometime before the prequels came out. At some point, it all became too much. There are a bazillion novels out there. It’s just too much to keep track of.
