Young Justice and Green Lantern Canceled
Tuesday, January 29th, 2013 at 1:37 am Category: Comics, DC, Green Lantern, NewsA press release from Cartoon Network announced the new and returning shows for 2013. Two shows which were absent from that list were Young Justice and Green Lantern. The show runner for Green Lantern Giancarlo Volpe confirmed via twitter that indeed his show had been canceled. As of the time of this posting there hasn’t been official confirmation from Young Justice’s creator Brandon Vietti. With the press release however we are fairly certain Young Justice will be officially canceled within a day or so. We will update here the moment more information becomes available.
I hadn’t watched much of Green Lantern but I was adamant supporter of Young Justice. It is in my top 5 favorite shows currently airing so I am very disappointed at this news. The news wasn’t too surprising however because on October 14th of last year planned episodes of both shows were suddenly removed without notice and didn’t air again until January 5th. With sudden postponements it seemed Cartoon Network didn’t have faith in these shows.
Are you as devastated as I am with this news? Let us know in the comments.

My theory is that CN is leaning hard to their core demographic of boys 5-14 and believe that those boys would prefer comedy in the style of The Annoying Orange and Almost Naked Animals rather then episodic storytelling and character development. I am heartbroken.
