‘Frozen’ Breaks a Billion

It’s official — “Frozen” has broken box office records and become the most profitable animated movie for Walt Disney Animation yet. With $400 million in domestic box office and almost $700 million internationally, “Frozen” has not only hit a billion dollars, it has also replaced “Toy Story 3” as the highest grossing animated movie of all time and just cracked into the top ten biggest movies ever! (Link for the curious) Not too shabby for a movie based on an old Hans Christian Andersen tale, eh?

Seriously though, with the amount of talent packed into the writing, producing, and acting of this film it’s no wonder it has been such a success. From young kids who were enthralled with the talking snowman and the funny reindeer to musical geeks enamored with the Broadway pedigree baked into it, there was something in the movie for everyone to love (unless you were one of the crazy people who thought it was turning your kids gay). It well deserved its Academy Awards, as did Bobby Lopez for his EGOT.

Basically, if you haven’t seen it yet, what the hell are you waiting for?
