DOCTOR WHO: New Poster, Villain Reveal, and Details for Season 7.2

Straight from the mouths of BBC America, details have arrived for the much anticipated return of Doctor Who on March 30th. “The Bells of St. John,” written by head writer Stephen Moffat, will be the first of seven new episodes written by the likes of Neil Gaiman, Mark Gatiss (be afraid), Neil Cross, and Stephen Thompson.

The Doctor (Matt Smith) is joined by his new companion Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman) for the latest set of incredible adventures through space and time. The duo finds new adversaries and familiar friends around every corner as they journey from the bottom of the ocean in a submarine to the center of the TARDIS and beyond. The Cybermen make a thunderous return and the Ice Warrior arrives in an unexpected place.

The premiere episode introduces a new nemesis, the Spoonheads, and yes I am already making up a song about them to the tune of “Spoonman.” Moffat states that the bottom half of the season will feature friends new and old, Cybermen, Ice Warriors, and in the final episode we will finally learn the Doctor’s biggest secret. And I would be remiss to not mention the guest stars; Warwick Davis, Richard E. Grant, and Dame Diana Rigg and her daughter Rachael Stirling in their first on screen appearance together.

Can the conclusion of season seven top the events of the 50th anniversary? Stephen Moffat says “If this wasn’t already our most exciting year it would be anyway!” And that is good, good news.
