Nathan Fillion is/is not Nova. Possibly.

A semi-dated rumor that has floated under the radar for a couple of months has come screaming back to life today when the always hard to ignore Latino Review reported that Nathan Fillion might cameo in “Guardians of the Galaxy”.

As Richard Rider.

The Nova Prime guy.

Super powered Nova Corps cop.

That has super powers.

And stuff.

The rumor is that our dearly loved Nathan Fillion is the post credit scene. Showing up as Nova. With regard to “Guardians of the Galaxy” Latino Review says:

We’re gonna see some Thanos and we’re going to see a post credits scene that has ___________________________ in it and…

…We’re gonna see Nova.

And then they go on to say:

Here’s the part I can’t get confirmed, but knowing the internet and superhero fandom’s history with this guy, I figure I’d just pass this on and hope it’s right because it’ll illicit a small cheer from Firefly and Castle fans.

I think Nathan Fillion cameos as Nova.

Sounds like a pretty unsubstantiated leap of logic. However, just in the interest of piling on for no other reason than this would be really cool if it happened, a couple of months ago Screen Rant reported that Fillion teased at Wizard Con that he may or may not appear in Guardians in some capacity:

During a Firefly panel at Wizard World Comic Con last weekend, Fillion was asked by a fan whether he had wanted a part in Guardians of the Galaxy, to which he gave the cryptic reply:

“Wanting to get a part… or maybe did. I’m just saying maybe. Maybe you’ll be surprised. Maybe. Check the credits.”

To add to that, Screen Rant reported that Comic Book Movies reported that Director James Gunn:

…. also made comments to a similar effect, saying that the recently wrapped reshoots for Guardians of the Galaxy were for the purposes of capturing, “Anything we want, but didn’t get.. something to make the movie better… [a] cool cameo idea.”

So, to wrap up. Latino Review has doubled down on a rumor that Fillion might appear in some capacity in Guardians by linking him to a newer rumor that Nova Prime would appear in the Post Credit scene at the end of the movie.

Crazier things have happened.
