Many fans and fansites have been jumping to speculate that this might be the case in the United States as well. First, let me ask the question: When has a release pattern for The Clone Wars (or any current Disney property for that matter) matched what’s going on in foreign territories?
The answer is a pretty solid “Never.”
From what I’m told, as far as the domestic release strategy for the additional content from The Clone Wars: it would could conceivably feature a different number of episodes than in foreign markets. When I say a different number of episodes, it seems as though Poland, if this story is accurate, would be getting less episodes than us here in the United States. And, at this point, there is no reason to believe that The Clone Wars will ever be making a debut on Disney XD in the United States.
It’s also important to point out that I’ve heard from various sources that the story arcs we’d be getting in the bonus content seem big. And completely amazing. I don’t want to say too much, but I think those of us who bought into the show whole-heartedly will be happy with what we see, but still dying for more when these episodes are over. At that point, maybe we’ll have to turn to a different medium to get those stories finished up, if at all.
We’ve all been hearing about the Clovis arc. And maybe some Boba Fett. And a Yoda Arc. Then there’s the Clones/Order 66 arc… Or could they be related arcs? Or are we looking at separate arcs altogether?
If each of these arcs are separate, and if the Season 5 model of four episode arcs pans out, there are at least sixteen episodes right there. And if you remember, when we interviewed Kevin Kiner, he said pretty specifically that he had something like ten episodes LEFT to score…
I’ve also heard a couple of other things for these episodes (or others we’ve not heard of…)
One thing I heard teased was the idea of bringing back another character from the classic trilogy (there’s a reason that photo of Boba Fett got released…)
And that the Yoda story that might involve a Sith temple? I’m hearing that’s a followup to the Mortis arc.
The Polish trailer description puts Qui-Gon there, too, as well as a familiar planet.
One more thing of note: it’s been said before across the Internet, and reiterated to me plenty, some of what we’re getting will be a mix of content. We might not be seeing the final complete episodes of everything that would be in production, but some things might be at various stages. That’s not something that bothers me, as I’d rather have the stories some way than not at all.
Perhaps the disconnect in what the Polish audience is seeing and what we’re getting is that they’re only running the finaled episodes? That’s something I’ve inferred as a possibility given the data, so don’t print that as fact, but it would certainly make sense.
But that’s all that’s fit to print for today.
